LA ORACIÓN DE JORGE WASHINGTON.
Jorge Washington, el primer presidente de los Estados Unidos, envió una circular a los gobernadores de todos los estados, en junio de 1873.
En el final de su carta decía: “Mi oración más sincera a Dios es que os bendiga y que tenga vuestro estado bajo su protección. Que él se digne inclinar el espíritu de los ciudadanos a la subordinaci
ón y obediencia al gobierno, y despertar un sentimiento de amor fraternal de los unos hacia los otros y, en particular para sus hermanos que han peleado en los campos de batalla; y finalmente, que su gracia nos mueva a todos a hacer justicia, a amar la misericordia y a conducimos con esa claridad, mansedumbre y templanza que caracterizan al Divino Autor de nuestra bendita religión, pues sin imitarlo con humildad nunca podremos esperar que la nación sea feliz.”–El Exégeta.
Cuanto hacen falta hoy en el siglo XXI gobernantes temerosos de Dios que vivan en los principios del Reino. Este mundo gime de tanta corrupción y pérdida de valores en los lugares de gobierno. Politica, poder, dinero, droga, sexo, mentira y arreglos debajo de la mesa, son la demostración de la perdida de valores. Oremos hoy a Dios, que nos dé, gobernantes que clamen a Dios por sabiduría y compasión.
Si el que peca inadvertidamente es uno de los gobernantes, e incurre en algo que los mandamientos del Señor su Dios prohíben, será culpable. Lev 4:22
